About K-DST:

K-DST ("The Dust") is a classic rock station hosted by Tommy "The Nightmare" Smith (voiced by Axl Rose, frontman and singer in the band Guns N' Roses, a band that does not contribute any song the Grand Theft Auto soundtrack listing of this station, but whose song "Welcome To The Jungle" is included in the soundtrack for the radio station Radio X).

The station's slogan "The Dust" and the DJ's comment about the station, "Where we're all a little foggy in the head", are both references to the role of drug abuse in the lives of many famous classic rock musicians.

Tommy "The Nightmare" Smith is supposed to have been the frontman of a fictional rock band called "Crystal Ship" and he makes a reference to the famous rock band The Who that he would've played together with them "if only they had had the vision to ask". Unlike the fictional rock band Love Fist in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the band Crystal Ship does not have any songs featured in the Grand Theft Auto soundtrack of San Andreas.
